1.Generally, wireless AP has two functions:

as the central point of the wireless LAN, for other computers equipped with wireless network cards through it access to the wireless LAN;

Extend the network scope by providing long distance wireless connections to wired Lans or small wireless Lans.

2.Wireless aps can also be used to connect to small wireless Lans for expansion purposes. When there are enough wireless network users, a wireless AP should be connected to the wired network to connect the wireless network to the wired network backbone. AP acts as a network bridge between wireless workstation and wired trunk, realizing seamless integration of wireless and wired. AP allows wireless workstations to access network resources while adding resources available to wired networks. [1]

3.Wireless AP is an access point for users using wireless devices (such as mobile phones and laptops) to access the wired network. It is mainly used in broadband homes, buildings, campuses, campuses, warehouses, factories and other places that need wireless monitoring. The typical distance covers tens of meters to hundreds of meters, and can also be used for long-distance transmission. The furthest one can reach about 30KM. The main technology is IEEE802.11 series. Most wireless aps also have an AP client mode, which enables them to connect wirelessly to other aps to extend network coverage.
